i saw some yellow halogen bulbs at Waggel last week - when i say bulbs, they were yellow tinted caps that fit over the glass part. I was going to ask the guy selling them the price, but unfortunately i was far too drunk to talk.

Does anyone know where i might procure a pair?

You might find somebody selling 'em at a foreign event, such as Waggel...

Seriously, they used to be available in French supermarkets, but haven't seen 'em there for a few years - they may be "old stock".

Even then, though, they were always H4 base, so wouldn't fit 2cvs - I've seen normal halogens with the P45t base, but not yellow. I had yellow 100/80w in the CX GTi - the extra power melted the light switch, so I had to add relays, but it wasn't quite enough to make up for the immense loss of light through having a piss-coloured plastic willywelly over the bulb.

LOL at Monsieur Chapman. Love yellow bulbs.......... until it gets dark and rural, then they're f**k all use to man or beast. I'd have a pair of halogens in yellow though - even though they overheat my switch gear. I'd just swat the white bulbs in for night time use.

The only time you'll use your lights then?

yup, just run yellow for the day time, to give lights that authentic francais look. Switch to candles if no white bulbs available. the increase in available lumens will be staggering!

I have relays fitted, but my switch still gets warm.... dirty contacts?

I remember seeing them too Neil. Just yellow caps on the white bulbs you can normally use.
I find with the yellow bulbs i have in the cars they are fine, plently bright enough really... plus on D*lly i fitted new headlights and that made a big difference!

I've had a bit more success with google & have found yellow halogens, 55/60w with a P45t base... They're pretty 'spensive at £9.02 each! P45t base though.

I suppose the Ecas yellow blubs are not halogen?
