Ok problem solved - it was the jubilee clip for the CPD valve chafing on the brass nut that holds the fuel filter inside the carb

Appearing unde the bonnet. Gathers on surfaces, presumably having been whipped around by the fan. Could be copper deposits? What's likely to be chaffing/dissolving? I'll whip the fan off and have a gander at the oil feed pipes. Or am I worrying over nothing and should relax and be in the money? |
