This may be the first of some potentially stupid questions but please bear with me as am new to taking 2CV's to bits and the associated foibles of these cars. I have noticed that we had a quite pronounced wheel wobble on the drivers side rear (well a passing porche driver pointed it out) so thinking that is was a problem tyre changed the wheel and the wobble persisted, no wobbles on any other wheel. So question is have I eliminated the wheel/tyre idea by changing wheels, are 2cv wheels balanced as none of mine seem to be? What else could it be? I cant tell you how long we have had this problem as the car drives fine. I'm a bit reluctant to let my daughter drive her car until this is solved any suggestions welcome cheers Colin |

If I were you I would jack the car up and spin the wheel and see what's happening. Look to see if wheel is running true (you may have had a damaged spare as well). If OK hold the tyre at 'quarter to three' and see if there is any play in the wheel bearing or perhaps the centre hub nut is loose (under the centre cover) Check arm isn't loose or has any play either (bit from chassis that holds the wheel) |

porche drivers tend to be ***nts and was probably winding you up most tyres have a Wobble if you cant feel it its fine. |

I think it must have been the wheel/tyre, they were both on the car when I got it so I have replaced it with a brand new tyre on a refurbed wheel and all seems fine. What size is the axle nut? as I dont have one big enough so couldnt check bearings etc. Another thing on my list for Sunday, hope there will still be traders etc there as my list is getting longer  Colin |
