Post Front to rear brake pipe.
Can these be changed without lifting the shell off the chassis? I know it's a lot easier without the cab in the way.
It's been a funny couple of weeks with the Dyane ... two weeks ago, I parked up on getting home from work and found a trail of LHM on the road, which turned out to be leaking from the pipe to the front callipers at the union with the master cylinder. Upon investigation, the union had unscrewed itself. I've never known that happen before. Then, once I'd tightened it up, replaced the brake fluid and bled the system, the front to rear pipe started leaking at the point where it goes around the chassis rail. So I'm carless - the hated Land Rover is still awaiting finishing off and my other half is away with her car - and having to get the bus to work and hitch a ride home with one of the other lorry drivers. Which is massively inconvenient, and if I can change the brake pipe without too much extra work I'll be well chuffed. But I'm still going to hire a car for the rest of the week.

RT,
probably a bit on the naughty side for road use, but when a rear brake pipe sheared on a racer during a 24 hour race at Mondello, an M8 bolt wound into the master cylinder instead of the front to rear brake pipe had it back on the track in no time.

( I had a quick look underneath, asked the owner if he'd done anything to the brakes prior to the race and when he said that all he'd done was 'tighten all the connections', I realised what had triggered the failure.)

Oddly enough, since it was a 'wet' race, the reduced tendency to lose the back end when braking proved to be popular with the drivers...

p.s. The front to rear pipe can be changed with the body on, bit of a fiddle at the 3 way connector on the rear axle, though.
