probably a bit on the naughty side for road use, but when a rear brake pipe sheared on a racer during a 24 hour race at Mondello, an M8 bolt wound into the master cylinder instead of the front to rear brake pipe had it back on the track in no time.
( I had a quick look underneath, asked the owner if he'd done anything to the brakes prior to the race and when he said that all he'd done was 'tighten all the connections', I realised what had triggered the failure.)
Oddly enough, since it was a 'wet' race, the reduced tendency to lose the back end when braking proved to be popular with the drivers...

p.s. The front to rear pipe can be changed with the body on, bit of a fiddle at the 3 way connector on the rear axle, though.
