i have a prob with my 2cv
on one side- ,the pilot light and the rear wont work!(no supply,) ive spent about 8 hours tracing the wiring but to no result
can i say ,that i,m an electrician btw, so its a bit embaressing
all i need is a proper diagram --not the rubbisy ones showing the wiring disapearing into the loom then re-appering & the other end
i can sort it out from a decent diagram

i realise that 2cv,s have a split lighting wiring system --left and right ,
the supply to the fuses are present

I should be able to copy the one from the haynes manual tomorrow if no-one throws up anything sooner.

thanks joolz, i have a haynes manual already , the diagram is hopeless ! ive actually found a way to get over the problem, by linking the pilot light/rear light from the working side to the side with no supply but i dont like doing that
at least it will pass the mot tho!

Check all the connections where the rear loom comes into the front loom through the firewall..

we cleaned all the bullet conctors with turps and a tiny round file, i think the problem lyes behind the insument panel, but ive got over it by linking the front and rear with the good side for now
my brother has a spare loom so ill trace the wiring on that
they wire these 2 2cv,s very strangely!

Have you got the last edition of the haynes, the one that includes the modifications from '89? If so then you'll already have this, but I'll post it anyway.





I've added the layout for the fuse box too, and have included + symbols to show which end is the feed. You didn't say if it was the left or the right that is not working, but I assume that the supplies for the front and rear split very soon after leaving the fuse box, so if you've got power at the fuse but none at either lamp then I would guess that the problem is very close to the fuse box.

If the wire is fine where it leaves the fuse box then I guess you'll have to unwrap a bit of the loom until you find the junction where it splits to the front and back.

Is that wiring diagram only for 89 onwards? My 87 D*lly has 5 fuses in 2 fuse boxes.

According to Haynes, as that's how they've labelled it. But my '87 spesh has 5 fuses too, so I'm guessing Haynes are wrong about the date.

Joolz, can you post up fig.12.45 which, I presume, shows the dim/dip system.

I do have a scan of the Dim-dip system, although can't be sure it's fig 12.45 right now.
