Being a mechanical numpty, I have noticed a unsmooth travel in the suspension mainly when cornering (I think mainly on one side), it seems to move a bit then suddenly jolt over with a creeky sort of noise you can feel through the steering wheel. I can feel a simular thing when I park up and the car comes to rest. Does this mean that the knife edges need greasing and if so how and with what do I do this.
Cheers Steve.

Could be a dry driveshaft sliding joint. A couple of squirts of grease might cure it.

Bit of veg oil in the cans maybe?

Lack of lubrication may cause the springs to, grind?

I doubt lack of oil in the cans would cause the car to jolt, I could be wrong though. Are the cans damaged? and do they move when the car is jacked up (in a forward to backward motion) ?

More like a couple of dozen shots, if the driveshafts are really dry. ;)
Working on a car today where the driveshafts hadn't been greased for ages, it took 30 strokes of the grease gun on each side before the middle joint stopped clunking when it was pulled up and down.

Nope,
more like a pita, as it would probably shoot far too much grease in.
You need to be able to feel the slack just go out of the joint.

No good for kingpins either, more chance of popping the Welch plug.
