 Turbo charging
I am in the middle of gathering bits to turbo my Dyane - got a IHI RH31 turbo from Japan (god its small) and made manifold to it. I was thinking of using an MG Metro Turbo Su carb in blow though position
Any advise on turbo 2cv engine would be great.

 Re: Turbo charging
I see my topic is already mentioned. Carb + turbo is possible but you need to give it less advance under boost mine goes about 12 degrees back under boost..... otherwise it will knock your engine to dead within minits........ So you need an advanced ignition system The cheapest at this moment is from http://www.no-limits-motorsport.de it cost between 145 euro diy and 249 euro ready to run. But then you can also do injection........ You can use a normal 2cv carb to start with for my opinion it can withstand the pressure... (vacuum is more stressfull then boost for a carb) not sure about the jets, just try it......

http://www.citronik.dk/jforum/posts/list/75/6746.pageHi, here a Dane who is also by fitting a turbo on his Dyane, and he uses an SU carburetor. He started by installing adjustable electronic ignition. The engine is mounted in the car yet. http://www.2cv-il.org/english/Article2cvTurbo.html

A good choise this turbo, the turbo on the foto is waaaayyyy (Lars and Co)to big for a 2cv. My turbo of a Smart is just perfect and yours will be too. Boost coming in at about 2000 rpm that is what you want (atleast I) and not at 4000rpm... Welcome to turbo-country................. Pictures pleeeeeaaaase.

 Re: Turbo charging
Thanks for replies. I will try standard carb first - mine will only be pressurized to about 7psi max. Do not want to blow gearbox etc apart, just want more power etc on hills. With the SU in the photo, they use suck - for this will you still get the leaning out on boost? I see Burton use a 123 ignition on their turbo - youtube video

 Re: Turbo charging
I'm making my own ignition now. 1-2-spark. look at my topic but in the moment I have no vacuum advance (only the on and off Visa vacuumbox. At a later time I can and will put a vacuuumsensor in it; then you can use it on turbo and blower (boosted engines) as well but it will take half a year from now.....
