Post Electric moteur
Had an interesting question by a French parts supplier, asking for my input how to add an electric motor to the back of the gear box :o
Reason is that this company is working on a solution to drive the 2cv in standard config as we know it but shifting to electric motor when entering cities. The company thinks that new laws similar to German laws, will kick in soon, not allowing poluting oldtimers to enter certain places.
I suggested a rear set up using standard gear box and electric motor but they insist mounting to front gear box due to implications getting approval from French authorities.
Any suggestions in particular adding a clutch.

Been thinking. Would any electric motors have built in clutch similar to a traffic clutch? If yes then it would a matter of only creating a housing between rear of gear box and electric motor + adding a shaft similar to the input shaft?

Thanks Tom. The company is pretty much covered with standard set up but want to design an electrical motor added to the rear of the gear box similar to 4x4 config.
