Good answer. None of my 2 2CV's have an oil temperature gauge as standard fitting. They do have a dip stick though.


Oh and that theres actually oil in the engine ;)

Moved sensor from dangerous position in the sump plug to the bottom of one of the rocker covers ( feel happy going over speed bumps now). Just returned home along the route national (motorway) between 100kph and 115kph and the gauge did not get above 55 deg C (10 deg ambient) which is exactly the temps I saw with the bulk oil in the sump.

Muff on. I wander if a oil cooler stat would be a good idea.
