Having noticed a slight discoloration in the paint work, I decided to grind out some rust and found a fairly badly executed repeair that's started to go bad. The first pic was taken in May 08 for comparison.

What can I do? :(

take it back to the garage concerned and ask if trowlling on the glenn miller constititutes a repair!

i wonder how many 2cvs this 'specialist' has 'restored' using this method?

Its quite common for a 2cv to crack along that area especially if its been on rough roads or heavy loads in boot

All depends on what the repairer was instructed to do! Given that its a seperate chassis most of the bodywork will be deemed to be cosmetic and so a tub of filler would be an economic repair rather than replacing the full sweep which may have written the car off as an un economic repair.

good news is that there is plenty good metal there so a welded repair should be a sraight forward affair to someone who cares

Beacuse (at the time) people like me were new to 2cv-ing and get taken in by them

I'll get it welded rather than hiding it with more filler. It would bug me knowing that it's there.
