Post subject:  Engine number help

Hi all
Having recently got my first A series an X reg Dyane i was after some help with the engine num . (pls)
Has A06/635 0905014894.
Noted one of Kens post somewhere stating that 4th digit is build year ? so presume not original engine.
Also will this be a Dyane lump or 2cv ?

No idea about engine number but look for the 'orga nunber' which is stencilled into the bulkhead LHS as you look at the bulkhead from the front, it'll be a 4 digit number most likely, and put it into the cats citroen site And you will have a build date for the car

Brian,
that engine number is for a 2CV engine, produced in 1985.
Wonder if the gearbox was swapped as well, as Dyanes didn't get the diaphragm clutch with 'long spline' gearbox to match until their last year of production.
