Post subject:  Toyo 135 tyres
I'm thinking of whipping off my AZU my not that old 125 x's and flogging them as i have a sudden desire to go to 135's , but i don't want or more like can't afford to pay a ton a corner for mich zx and have been browsing a well known emporium and seen what looks like the next best thing in TOYO 135x80 .
Is it a pointless desire , and does anybody have any experience or thoughts on these TOYO's?

Been driving on toyo's on the 2cv for a few years now (only the front ones) and I dont have any complaints about them.
On the 2cv they lasted about 3 years, which means for me 50000-60000 km

good grip in dry and wet conditions. Also usable in snow, but winter tyres are far better in these conditions.
Had Mabors before, and they were worse in the wet. No experience with Firestone, but heard they are one of the worst tyres for a 2cv...

On the Ami I just mounted a fresh set of them, after the first set worn out in a year, due to bad alignment of the front tyres and a bad bearing.

Off course, they aren't Michelins, so a bit stiffer side walls, but that doesn't bother me.
On the other side they cost around 50%, and if they last half as long, the overall costs are the same ;)

I replaced all my knackered tyres with Toyos a couple of years ago, and things have been absolutely fine! Still loads of tread on them, too. (Not the best for racing, I believe, but fine for the Queen's highway.) Certainly more reliable than my Firestones, which had a tendency to deflate rapidly while driving along at speed.

toyo 135 not the best for racing? :o

But was mandatory fittment for 2010 2CV 24 hour race...

hmm thanks, looking positive so far then , i would have thought stiffer sidewalls more desirable, or does that floppiness in michelins walls help in handling :?:

If you want them stiffer you may try 2.0 bar all around.

With2.0 bars and Mabors the steering was more responsibe
but the rear a little bouncy on bends with transversal bumps/cuts.

I hate Toyo's, I say keep the Michelins or if you really dont want them, I'm very interested.

its a compromise a toyo can be had for about 1/3 of a 135mich

for those that say toyos are good in the wet need to get a decent comparison - toyos dont like wet , diesel scum or cold and are pretty bad on fatted out tarmac

by far the best of the non michelins and better than crumbling bald 125s

your just going to have to grow some balls and try it out for yourself

I've Toyos on my car,used it since last May,everyday,and I cant fault them.
Am I driving my car incorrectly?
Should I be cornering on two wheels?
I am obviously missing something here.My Special has Michelin 125's on it,and yes,its slightly more comfortable,but at the end of the day,ITS A FRIGGING 2CV,not a Ferrari :lol:

What are they supposed to do in the wet,stop turning?
