Post subject: | Heater tube woes |
I seem to get through heater tubes likes theres no tomorow! I keen finding thenfoam inside the tube comes away from thenlining and blocks heat getting through! Anyone come up with a subsitiute, and can suggest where incan get it from? Been looking around to not much conclusion |

James, something like this, although it will transmit more noise from the engine? The 60mm diameter is fine for the demist tubes, slightly larger diameter probably needed for the primary heater tubes. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/60mm-Black-Ne ... 1750wt_854 |

Thanks ken Looked at that stuff and didnt know if it'd be adequate Its the primary i have big problems with and that stupid small rhs demist tube Ps did you get my pm and thing in der post |

Just bought a metre of that tube off ebay and is a perfect fit. My old ones were knackerd and had folded in places not letting much heat through but now I can see through the windscreen! Cheers for that. |

Yep, it does work rather well. I sent some to a customer who has owned his 1975 RHD 2CV since it was one year old and Bernard's comment was that it had made the car practical for use in winter for the first time ever. Because his car is one of those with a single demist tube, coming all the way over to the driver's side from near the battery, the standard foam lined tube never permitted sufficient air flow.
