Re: Brake system dimensions
Bit of a random topic, but here you go (
with apologies in advance for more than enough Guinness this evening).
The diameter of the connecting pipework is irrelevant when considering the relationship between the force acting on the master cylinder and the resultant force at the slave cylinder(s).
It's the ratio of the
surface areas of the master and slave cylinders which determines the increase in force at the slave cylinders, so if a slave cylinder is 2 times the diameter of the master cylinder, the multiplication factor is 4.
If the slave cylinder has a diameter which is 10 times greater than the master cylinder, the force produced at the slave cylinder is 100 larger and so on...

I've forgotten from trade school how to understand, brake pipe internal dimensions in conjunction with master cylinder bore diameter + bore diameter on wheel cylinders. Remember a formular including measured numbers of kg applied to the brake pedal. Anyone here refresh my memory please.
Thanks in advance
