 Clutch Problem
Hi All, The other day I was stuck (far from home) with a problem I have never seen before. I could not get 1st or reverse without the nasty crunch. I tried to adjust the cable but nothing doing. I got under the car and found the problem. I have an old fashioned clutch with the 3 finger activater. These fingers are held in (in out position) by small screws and 2 nuts. One of the fingers had come lose and was holding the pressure plate against the flywheel. I did manage to tighten it back after cutting a spanner to fit into gap (did not want to remove engine) and put loctite on the 2 nuts.
Has anyone come over this problem before....
