 Solex 30 pics carb
Hi,has anyone got a picture of this carb?It appears that the choke knock off spring is incorrect,as it will not do its job.I have tried it in various positions, but just can't get it to work.I can only think its the wrong spring, hence the picture. Or even a carb for sale? Dave.

Further down this page viewtopic.php?f=7&t=3426the forked lever should straddle the pin on the choke cam as for the spring its been about 25* yrs since i played with one of those so im afraid spring location isnt something i could comment on. Sean

 Re: Solex 30 pics carb
*15 yrs im not that old and that spring doesn't look right the 2 legs appear to be bearing on 2 fixed points on the body - should be one leg locating on that pin the other on some part of the cam or linkage they are not here yet

 Re: Solex 30 pics carb
turned up at about 3 whats wrong with them? they are perfectly servicable some very light corrosion on one, more the coating blistering off than pitting - i could just polish them and say "erm - £30" ill measure them make some template, clean them and send them back unless you really want copper ones Sean

 Re: Solex 30 pics carb
No,they are the ones off my spare engine. The ones on my useable engine are fine after I cleaned them. You wanted some for a template,so now you have them .If you think they are OK,thats fine,I can arrange to get them collected when your finished with them, just let me know.

 Re: Solex 30 pics carb
Dave, just in case, here's a reference photo for you. A bracket on the fast idle cam comes into contact with the outer leg of the spring when the choke flap is 'about' two thirds closed. Guess the idea was to prevent the driver from setting off with the choke closed, much the same setup was used on early versions of the 26/35 carburettor, until someone came up with the bright idea of the "choke pull-off device"... ken dave 411 wrote: I think I may have sussed it.Will post pics when I get home .
