 Are metal shrouds.....
....significantly noisier than rubber ones?
I've got my engine in bits at the moment, for no particular reason, and I can't make up my mind whether to refit the crumbly rubber shrouds or stick the shiny, freshly powder coated metal ones I've had sitting in the garage for ages on instead.
I know the metal ones will look better and do a better job but I'm not keen on making the car even noisier.
Any opinions to share?

 Re: Are metal shrouds.....
Hi,
I have one car with the metal shrouds and one without and tbh the difference isn't all that great and most noticeable from outside rather than inside the car.

I'll go one better than Sean's offer and I'll pay you the scrap money AND the postage if you send them this way.

FFS .....its a no-brainer! ....turn the stereo up to full volume [11] .....and enjoy the music .....safe in the knowledge that your nice quiet, shiny metal shrouds are'nt gonna make your engine overheat. hth T.

Oh really? Quote: FFS .....its a no-brainer! ....turn the stereo up to full volume [11] ..... Sound advice that. Quote: I'll you pay for them, collect them AND give you my wife and children PM me a picture of the wife and we'll talk turkey. Quote: I'll go out to the garage where I have two sets Flash git. So it looks like the general concensus of opinion is 'use the metal shrouds you daft twat' so I reckon I might just do that but be warned, if my car then sounds like a skeleton having a wank in biscuit tin then I'll probably sulk.
