Problem is if you've lost just the rubber, you can't buy a rubber to fit the original mount with the metal retainer bit. If you need to weld in a complete mounting then it's a different design and a different rubber comes with that. I got round not having the metal retainer for the original type using a coach screw, large washer and a lot of swearing and fiddling it into position. |

Obviously my cars are always run low so they use the bumpstops all the time, but I reckon if you loaded a normal 2cv up with a lot of weight, two rear passengers and a boot full of shopping, a boot box, a cycle rack, a boot rack and a picnic basket hung from it (you get the idea) then you'd want the bumpstops to stop the fuel tank rubbing the floor. |

I am so bad at anything technical, so take this with a pinch of Lard.... ....however...I chopped them off ......simple....didnt see the point. A bit like wisdom teeth !! I admit to driving the car on my own or just with one passenger...so the weight bit dont matter....they just seem an area for extra rust and water to collect .....and so grounded off ! I would rather spend my money on other stuff than "bump stops"..... |
