Hi all,
I was wondering about your experience using rust converters.I have used the Bilt Hamer converter and it seems ok,but ,I was thinking"can you paint/waxoyl" directly over the top of it?
What i am thinking is,on my van,it has top hat shaped chaneling down the sides, back doors, fuel tank cover and spare wheel cover. As you cant see behind them, and they look like perfect water traps,I want to spray something in there to stop the rust, then spray some Bilt Hamer stuff(cant remember the number of it,sorry, its brown and in a large spray can, comes with a long probe)in there afterwards to prevent any further rust.
So,do you think that would work?
Ta.

I've used the dinitrol rust convertor and both painted over it and used dinitrol wax no problems.

yup, i'd second that - brilliant stuff. I've left areas un-painted after applying this and it stands up to the elements fine.....gonna top-coat soon...honest

I use Wurth rust converter. Same as the Dinitrol one. Jenolite is good too, but needs leaving longer. I'm a little suspicious of anything that claims to kill rust completely, I just try and slow it down.
