Ok seems my car just wants to die this week. Just noticed coming home from the pub when I use the horn the lights completely dip out. :( Car seems fine otherwise.... Only thing I've done with anything related to it recently is tightened the alternator up because the belt was abit slack. What've I done? :(

Nothing

Get a volt meter. Check before starting, after and as revving. Rise the revs and voltage should rise. If no charge tryba set of spare brushes

Is it just the horn that causes the lights to dip?

I drove home one night and whenever I indicated left my headlamps dimmed, everything else was fine. Turned out the live feed to the left indicator was melted all over the manifold!

Check feed to your horn boy.
