Apart from the obvious (tension leads off, steering-lock device) has anyone got any good ideas about how to make your A-series less nickable?

From hi-tech to homespun. Anything considered.

What about putting it in reverse, then open bonnet and disconnect gear lever. Only takes a minute and would flummox most would be thieves.

Was he the chap selling them at the National? Surely then your 2CV could be driven away in 1st. or 3rd.

How about a wheel clamp? It'd mean the car couldn't be pushed or moved unless it was lifted..

in holland there is a 2cv garage that has a lock that works with a key lockable valve.
When you press the brake, you can close the valve so the brakes are still on..

or install something like this:

Most likely as he was also selling them at the puddleducks camp a few weeks later... was asking £15 each (inc the padlock) But I won mine in the raffle!! He was also selling window rubbers (that clip to door frame & hold window open) 2 for £8 plus £2 P&P

It's hard enough to work the gears with full use of them never mind with them locked into just one!!!

Tracker. I spotted this device on another forum last night. Costs £100 and uses a £10 sim card to pinpoint the car within 5 metres. You can also send a text message to the car and switch off the ignition or fuel pump. Only 2 wires to connect. http://www.cgmart.co.uk/ And no I'm not on commission honest :)

Edit. Just checked on ebay and there are dozens of them for even less money

Edit extra: Also on ebay are anti-tracker gadgets which completely block car tracker systems, http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1-Pcs-Vehicle ... 27bf230efb

So this is probably the worst idea I've ever had and I recommend you ignore this post.

No problem! All we need to do is invent an anti-anti-tracker gadget! We could clean up!
