Anyone know what I use to replace Nippys engine mounts? - ripped them off dropping the clutch today!

I believe that you have to cut GS mounts down but whats the story on that?

Cheers

Paul

Hi,

I thought I had one marked up pre-mod but I cannot find it sadly. (will keep an eye out though when in the garage!)

I have taken some pics of mine though (bad ones that are not very useful). Ignore the square steel spacers as these were put in to get the height up enough to clear the steering rack for fitting a 5 speed box.

sorry I'm not much help, will keep looking for my template!

Mystery mount number 1 is Ami Super.

Mystery mount number 2 is GS/A.

I modified a pair of GS/A ones (dodge business that was!) but, if you still have the remains of the old ones, there are people that re-rubber them for you. Failing that, try Robb Moss at the Chevronics centre.....

Hi, I've no experience with these, so it's just a thought. If the set you've broken are the same as the ones in Tim's pics could you re-use the top part and bolt it onto a 2cv mount, or even make a bracket to go on the top of a 2cv mount from a piece of angle iron. Or are the 2cv mounts too soft.

Either way, they're gonna be a whole lot better than no engine mounts!!

Cheers Guys - looks like you have to cut part away of a GS mount to fit past the discs.

It's not the discs you have to worry about, they'll smash the Ami Super bellhousing first!
