James for the 24hr race we use NGK B10HVX plugs with no problems at all, not sure how hard you drive, I doubt it will be harder than we do

I've been told that if your plugs don't last that long, for everyday hard use B7's (NGK) can often be better? Is this true, and will they be ok in a 2cv? |

edit - just looked and ecas and they sell them so assume you can. |

NGK Plugs melt!!!! Bought some and first time I drove on the motorway one of the plugs welded the central core to the outer connector (try driving up High Wycombe hill on 1 cylinder!!) Looked on ECAS web site and they recommend them "for around town driving" Have bought som Eyquem (but not used them as yet) as currently still running OK on Bosch!! which got us all the way to Salbris & Back no problem. |

Ngk all the way- B7 for modern unleaded. if your plugs melt then you have some serious issues to address |

Was sold NGK B6HS Plugs for unleaded and they did not last 100 miles!!! Drove over to Steve Hill's Place from near Reading Berkshire to High Wycombe and broke down after driving down the M4 motorway 2 junctions then up the A404 (did not make the top of the hill....) Limped to his garage on one plug then changed back to the old Bosch Plugs I had kepts as spare in the boot and have since driven To Salbris & Back plus Oxford & Back And East Wittering and back over 2000miles on the old plugs with no issues what so ever!! Spoke with Steve about it and he said I was not the first 2CV that he has seen with the same problem (a Lady client driving from reading to him approx same distance from a similar area had the same problem which he put down to bad fuel in our area???) |

Have to admit that, after 90,000 2CV miles in 3 years using only NGK B6HS, I've found them to be spot on & faultless - be it town driving or a sustained 70mph.. Amazed that one could fail so epically! |

Bosch are meant to be nifty, though.. just talking to a friend about this who said he cleans and gaps his on the 3k service interval and they last quite a while.. |
