Post Gearslide Assembly
Made a nice new extended gearstick to day for the race car, whilst admiring my handy work I slid it back and forth, yep all good NOPE :o weld still hot from where I had just been grinding I got the smell of burning rubber and now one end of the gearslide has no bush!!!!

Has anyone fitted this in the past from Roy - Set of bushes, 2 nylon and 2 polyurethane for gearslide tube assembly. Not easy to fit To fit these requires much time, perseverance and understanding!! (his words)

Any tips

I have asked the same question for years but no proper answer, so I cut the lever. Remove it and replace the bush including the rubber at the same time. When lever is out, you have room enough to colapse the bush and press it in.

Hi Viking, I thought it would be a lot easier to so without the gearstick in the way!

I tried several times with the lever in place but failed constantly. To open the folded over edge on the tube will only ruin the tube. If anybody else is willing to share their secret, beers are on me

The one in the Ami has no bushes at all. I keep meaning to try and fit some, but I've just got used to it as it is.

Keep the original you have and fix it. The new are reproduction, made in aluminium, usable but not as good as original.
