All I'd say is fit the window to make sure it'll go in properly before you cut it, and my preference is to seam weld the join and clean it back with increasingly finer sanding flap wheels and wet and dry paper. I'd have thought using a spot welder and overlapping the panels would mean having to use filler and having a join that'd possibly crack in the future. I seem to recall that the last set of these I fitted I cut back a little from the factory edge as it didn't seem quite right, maybe only an inch or so. |

Cheers Russell, Im intending on spot welding only the edges and as you say seam welding the join. Thanks for the window tip,, just need to drill out all the bloody spot welds now lol |

What Russ said basically. Pre-fit the window glass to make sure it is all in the right place and only use filler to finish off any imperfections otherwise it will crack. Make sure you leave a good bit of metal spare on the top of the inner wing to weld the new panel to. Measure twice, cut once! |

Hi guys, nearly got this panel out. I'm having trouble separating the rear lip which makes up the edge of the boot. Am I right in thinking there is just two parallel lines of spot welds in sort of a zig zag pattern holding this on? Cheers mark |

Might be braized as well depending on where/when its built, there are a lot of spot welded then braized joints in the shell used as much as a seal as anything |
