 lamp bar shortening
Howdy, I want to shorten my lamp bar to pre square headlight spec, anyone got measurements, how much to shorten it by? I would just try and figure it out but I have no bonnet, only one wing and the car is in a million pieces.
Thanks!

 Re: lamp bar shortening
Ok thanks, so 6cm each side? seems alot more than I was thinking, will that work fine with 2CV6 bonnet? Russell, do you have a photo of yours with the 3cm shortened bar?

 Re: lamp bar shortening
Just measured them. From the rotating bracket to the where the lamp holder is welded on is 12 cms on a modern light bar and 6 cms on an older one. Both cars have standard bonnets.

Photos of my car in the red spesh thread. I cut the weld off the bar and slid them up and down until it looked right.

 Re: lamp bar shortening
Thanks all, I think I'll be patient and wait til I can test it in position, but I reckon the 60mm will be right.

 Re: lamp bar shortening
Might be an idea to leave some extra leeway, as I'm sure I recall having to be ease the bonnet between the headlights on a 1963 van which still had the original light bar fitted...
