Cheers Jack If the car is charging [simple test, do the headlights get brighter when you rev the engine] then the simple solution is to buy a new battery. |

No they dont. I had the battery on charge last night - via an external charger - and just started her up and checked everyything, all is working in and out. But the lights dont get brighter when the engine is revved. Plus the battery is only 2-3 months old. Anymore easy tests/fixes???? Jack |

The likelihood is that the brushes have worn out in the alternator. On most alternators this is a cartridge type affair which can be removed with one or two screws at the back of the alternator. Cheap as chips to buy. |
