Hi The centre bellows on my offside driveshaft has split,whats involved in replacing it,had a look in the haynes manual and it seems fairly simple (unbolt the driveshaft flange at the gearbox end compress the shafts together, swivel the shafts forward then separate the two shafts and replace the bellows)or have I got it wrong? cheers Andy |

if youv'e got the tools its usually easier to uncouple the wheel end. Sean |

Also, turn the gaiter inside out and pull it onto the wheel half of the drive shaft. It's a bugger to get the shaft into that small hole otherwise (!). Lube helps, as always. |

And only put a clip or cable tie on the big end. |

Changed the bellows today had to disconnect the drive shaft from the gearbox end as I couldn't find a big enough socket for the drive shaft nut. It was a breeze,popped the wing off undid the 4 bolts and 2 nuts and swapped over the bellows in fact the hardest bit was getting the bellows over each end.The old bellows was zipped tied at both ends,does this makesplits in the bellows more likely? Yes. As I said they are only supposed to have one on the big end. |
