 Couple of wee questions
Got my nice, soft touch, single spoke steering wheel. (thanks Sean)
The old 2 spoker sat straight, but the bolt hole alignment on the single spoke wheel means that it sits at 9 o,clock..
I loosened the pinch bolt at the rack, thinking I could pull out the wheel and shaft, turn I a little and bolt it up again. Unfortunately it only moves half inch. What am I missing?????
Also, I had assumes all metric fixings but my 7/16 socket seems well used so Far!

 Re: Couple of wee questions
The bolt sits in a groove in the steering column, just make sure it's free. I believe the wheel is supposed to be at the 5 o'clock or 7 o'clock position.

 Re: Couple of wee questions
I took the bolt out, the clamp was free....the inner column would not pull clear of the splines to allow rotation...do I have to mess with the column mount? Looks like a pain with all of the funny anti tamper nuts

 Re: Couple of wee questions
No, you have to unbolt the steering lock collar. There should be a metal shroud hel by a single nut on the reverse side of the lock. Remove it and you'll see the collar. There are two allen bolts holding it together. Once the collar is off the column will come off the spline.

Ok, so I found the wee bolt and removed it. The plate rattles around but I can't see any way of getting it off or slipping it up or down....Stumped

 Re: Couple of wee questions
it should just slide down the column! i had exactly the same problem with mine when i swapped from 2 spoke to 1 spoke steering wheel, it's exactly what everyone has said, you need to completely remove the bolt from the bottom of the column which allows the clamp to then move, all you have todo is make sure your wheels are straight.. then tug on your steering wheel quite hard (try not to smack yourself in the chin... it's easier than you think) then make sure it's level and pop it back down... then just slide the clamp back up and bolt it into place!

If you look in the recess of the lock assembly you'll see it. You need to turn the wheel to enable you to get an allen key into the two bolts holding the collar together.

 Re: Couple of wee questions
Ahhh.....found the bugger ! For some reason when I went back out to it, (after a few glasses of wine....)' the bloody thing fell off exposing he collar ....after some fiddling around, I found the steering lock collar and the Allen bolts. So I adjusted the position and bolted everything up tight.
I,ll recheck everyting tomorrow before driving ! (due to wine intake)
Thanks for input !!!!
