They're Ami Super driveshafts. They're made of chocolate. They're the same as G shafts, but shorter. They really don't like the greater suspension travel of A-series suspension much, and the 2cv joints die, together with the triaxes.

You've got four basic options.
- Replace with used Ami Super shafts. They're rocking horse.
- Replace with rebuilt Ami Super shafts. They're available, but expensive and poor quality. Don't ask where from, don't know, don't care.
- Rebuild with early G shaft triax and 2cv. They're about, but they're 35 yrs old.
- Replace with 2cv shafts. They take the power - possibly better than Super - and just need an adapter plate machining up at the 'box end. Well within your capabilities, mate.

I have a new G shaft in my garage. Bought it 20 odd years ago as a spare and never used it. Might that be of interest to you?

anyone have an idea where used ami super shafts can be re-conditioned? I have tried www.driveshaftuk.com but no good.

where from? I can manage poor quality!

How hard is it to find 2cv's that will fit to be DIY repaired? I had a look on the web but no joy yet.

someone help please!
