Post subject:  Regulator question.

As mentioned in the "My 2cv" thread, the brushes for the Iskra alternator fitted to my 2CV have just been replaced. I've checked the output with lights on/off and the voltage is reading about 13.8v, I know it should be more like 14.5v, so should I replace the solid-state regulator for another one? I 'borrowed' another regulator, and with that fitted the charging system is kicking out 14.5v, so it's definitely the regulator at fault, but can I get away with using it at this time of year?

I should think there's no problem with that plan.
Reminds me of a 2CV friend in Norway, who had 2 of the electro-mechanical regulators on the bulkhead of his car.
One was set at 14.4 volts for Winter use, the other slightly lower...
