They do exactly what they say they're going to do. Really, really well.

I'd been swearing at some utterly manky 10mm headed bolts on the VW's thermostat housing. Even worse, they go into threaded inserts in the plastic housing. Not gonna be fun!

Somebody pointed me to these. Ordered Tue night. Arrived this morning. Blimey. It was like I was unscrewing some new bolts.

Irwin are the bollocks. You won't buy better vise grips.

Seriously... These were some very manky "furry brown cheese" bolts. I'd even attacked one with a hacksaw and molegrips to try and get somewhere with it - not exactly helped by crappy access. They just unscrewed.

They look good.

What I am a bit hissy about is that I am lucky enough to have been over sold some Snap-on stuff...its all fine, but frecking expensive....so I brought some Halfrauds stuff a few years ago....the "proffesional" range with a lifetime guarantee.

Broke a hex socket two weeks ago....it basically just snapped...proudly took it into local branch for exchange......I brought it several years ago.....but still within my lifetime guarantee.....no way would they swap it cause I didnt have a recipt.

Apparantly I could have brought it off ebay and therefore if I couldnt prove I was the original purchaser then no guarantee.

:x

Which is why Snap-On is better. And cooler.

Halfords stuff is good quality but you have to deal with the twats in their shops. Worth paying 4x the price for Snap-On IMO.

I wish I still had mine. :-(

Facom stuff is good too. No hassle if they break.
