If I could afford michelins I'd get them but I loves my toyos. They were cheap and I quite happily to chuck it into a corner in the dry and it'll be fine. On the other hand firestones are the shittest... I used to almost die about 20 times a day until one luckily deflated at about 50 on a dual carriageway, forcing me to buy something else. and yes about the wheel squeel. Roundabout near me causes it all the time.

Interesting point about the shittest tyre, I'd personally say it was a tie between camacs or firestones. Ive rolled several firestones off rims when cornering which says to me they're probably the worst too.

The van's on Michelins. I've never felt anything grip like them. In fact, they grip so well, the drive shaft sheared before the tyre let go.

My michelin 135's are amazing. I was going to go for budget tyres until Russ threatened to set me on fire, glad I listened
Although I spent half a months salary on some rubber, I'm glad I did. I decided to also get new wheels at the same time. As mine where on the way

I wouldn't put anything but a 135 on my car.

Patrick,
it's been a while, so I guess it's understandable that you're forgotten about how 125 Michelins ( & standard springs) could sound on the track, so here's a reminder... ;)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cwRoJR72ZHM

On my first session of 24 hour spannering at Mondello back in 1994, I think that Firestone 125s were the 'control' tyre, otherwise the Irish team next door to us wouldn't have been quite so defensive about the set of Uniroyals which they'd rushed off to buy on Sunday morning.
The car I was with went through the stack of tyres we'd taken to Ireland at such a rate that we were running them down to the wire and still had to beg ( borrow or steal) some more.

In fact, instead of changing or reconstructing engines ( as you have to do with the Kent cam), a fair amount of my time was spent changing wheels or fitting replacement tyres.
Much the same story when I joined the the ECAS team, plenty of tyre changing for the grease monkeys, iirc.

p.s. Have you checked the tracking, including that wonky n/s/r often found on Portuguese-built cars?

Now THAT is proper 2CV racing, none of this silly uprated, lowered suspension gayness. :P

I want to argue too.
No tires fitted to 2cv are meant for this (race)treatment. Doesn't matter what you fit.
