Post subject:  new member questions

Hello--------I`m new to this forum and have just begun a restoration of my 1970 2CV4. Not too many of these cars here in Ohio. I`d appreciate any suggestions for finding the BEST shop manual---also any advise on finding parts suppliers here in the USA or? Many Thanks for any input---happy to find this Fourm!!! Paul

Good luck with your rebuild. Though people often criticise the Haynes manual for 2CVs it is a good starting point for you.

Parts are going to be your problem. There is a massive difficulty for UK and European parts suppliers selling into the US and Canada because of your unlimited liability laws. In fact when I was involved with the 2CV club in the UK we were specifically advised not to sell parts across the pond by our insurers.

I think what a lot of your countrymen do is have a pet friend in Europe buy parts on their behalf and send them over.

We would be more than happy to asist you with parts. We have some US 2cv customers we supply parts to without any problems.
