What are good alternative front seats? Comfy, adjustable and fairly straightforward to fit?

I know CX, BX and GS seats are popular and digging on snail shows jaguar xj6 series 3 or daimler double 6 seats should fit too.

I quite like the ones Joolz has - from a Hyundai or KIA or something?

What else have you seen, do you use?

I've got BX GTi seats in de pick up. Nice seats, with good comfort, if you're not too small.

Have seen cars with (electrical) XM seats, CX seats. there once was an advert of an 2cv with Volvo seats over here.

The girl's car had some renault (dont know wich type) in it, but the frame collapsed)

If you want good seats, you can use Savas or Scheel seats. In Holland there are company's who sell there second hand. New they cost a fortune, 'cos they are custom made to your back and so.

I had Daimler doublesix seats in mine for a while, leather comfy, and had heater elements.

You cant go wrong with BX seats ....


Unless you need to carry any passengers in the rear ....


....Although I guesss [me] being a 6ft tall "bat fasterd" dont help any ...

Something I've got bookmarked and intend to pursue if time ever permits but it's sorting out quite what will fit and is not iso with seat belts etc!

BX items fit the 2CV ones .....I only found out after I'd renoved the original BX ones from the seats they were attached to.
BUT .....then again,the 2CV ones are bolted to floor .....the BX ones are intergrated in the seat .....maybe I went the right way.

but im getting my seats re done in the spring if i can afford to, so im not going to bother putting bx seats in for comfort

Pretty much. You just need to make up a fairly simple adapter to bolt to the floor, then bolt the seats to.

For the outer runners, it's just something like 25mm square steel box with two nuts welded in, and two tags to go out a bit to the bolt holes.

For the inner runners, two similar lengths of 25mm box, with something between the two to bolt to the floor.

I bolted [& later welded] a piece of box section to an old 2CV runner and then bolted the BX runners onto the box section.

btw .....the tie wrap is there to prevent my fire extuinuisher from sliding around.

The advantage is that the seats still remove easily [handy for camping and should I wanna return my car to "as standard" ]
The disadvantage is that I'm now sat about 2" higher than my original seat,so if I'm the first car [in line] to pull up at traffic lights I cant see outa the roof .....its no problem to just stay a couple of foot back though.

Adjustment of the seats in my car is a problem with the doors closed ......the door pockets get in the way of the adjusting wheels ...[the door pockets were a Citroen optional extra when I bought the car] ......I guess "soft" pockets like in Adrians pic eliminate this problem]
Dont be tempted to use the BX seat belt mounts,they fit the 2CV belts,but they're fastened to the seats .....far better [imho] to use the original 2CV belt mounts as they are anchored more firmly to the car floor/chassis.....my guess is that the chassis is far stronger than the seat mounts in the event of an accident.

If I'd gone any higher in the Acad, it'd have been a real problem - there was a wooden fake ceiling resting on the box above the doors, containing stereo & speakers. My head occasionally brushed that anyway... (6'2")

As low as the seats were, though, they weren't a problem for Ellie (5'2")
