 Sparkplugs
We might have had this before but is there any practical advantage to using these uber bosch spark plugs. As they'll cost me all of £1 more I'm slightly tempted... http://www.ecas2cvparts.co.uk/spark-plug-bosch-super-wr78g-electrode-spark-plug-notes-p-1519.html...or am I doing a james (coin a phrase?) and buying something expensive and over the top that ultimately won't make a difference?

 Re: Sparkplugs
Not ever used multi electrode plugs in a 2cv before but have in other cars and my experience of them is that you dont really notice a diffrence and they dont seem to last as long.

 Re: Sparkplugs
In another thread(can't remember which one),Ken explains that the voltage produced by the 2cv system is not really powerful enought for a multi electrode spark plug(or something along those lines)

 Re: Sparkplugs
Yup id second that
if you buy a box of 10 NGK B7s it works out quite cheap, and after 26yrs of 2cv abuse I've found they seem to be the ones that work best and for longest.
the multi electrode ones are designed for high output modern coils and i hav'nt worked out what would happen to the plug that works the "wrong way" but in a 2cv. I suspect the multi plug would just acts like a normal one in a 2cv.
How do you gap them what gap do they come with? Sean
edit they may work better with the fashionable yellow ACCEL coil

 Re: Sparkplugs
Well ECAS sell them, so I can only assume there must be some sort of improvement, but in tandem with the Harley type coil. I'm trying to improve my car's cold starting issues, so I'm seriously considering purchasing the Harley coil and if I do, I'll consider buying a pair of these and give them a try.

Maybe a compression test first. If low, the above won't help...!

ECAS sell all sorts of useless shite that people want cause they think its good or because people phone up and say " but X is selling a set of blah at £??"-sports filters, cheap pattern breathers rubbish shocks.... Luckily Roy is an honest sort of fellow who actually likes 2cvs and so there is usually a bit in the description and the proper item on sale cold start problems;- new points and condenser new plugs of whatever choice good HT leadsclean oil of the right weight errors in timing wont help neither will poor mixture, check for induction leaks and choke pull off device for working and a decent battery - there is no reason why a standard car wont just switch on...if i could do videos id show the current D*lly being started but i cant be arsed if you cant get it to run on points and standard coil all the fancy stuff wont helpSean
