6 volts have never been my strongest side. This 6 volt indicator does not work. The 2cv has 1 only indicator mounted on the body side near the rear triangle window showing forward and rear warning. The lights (both sides) comes on but no flashing.
This thing has 7.19 volts going in when the engine is running but 6.20 volts feeding the indicator switch. The ‘’klak klak’’ is not working either but lights are passing across when bridging. I looked at a new indicator but it has 12 volt not 6 volts written on it. What to do? Help is appreciated.

Not entirley sure what your asking?

substitute a modern clacker less indicator switch in to the system (wont matter its 12v as its just contacts) - if the indicators all work as they should then its the 12v clacker thats causing the problem in your 6v system

if they still dont work then look at the relay and earths etc

Swapping between the original 6 volt fitted and new 12 volts makes no difference. The rely or whatever it is has no earth only feed in and feed out.

What is the rely doing and how to test it
Is the klak klak depending on 6 or 12 volt. In other words can a 12 volt be fitted and still work?

Managed to remove the cover. It is a flasher rely but it is not working. I can manipulate the contact points with my finger and the 12 volt klak klak switch beings working. I guess the search begins for a new 6 volt rely but where? Haven’t seen any around, any ideas?

there is usually a resistor wire ans a spring the wire carries the currrent heats expands pops the spring cools spring opens and the circut is made again.

try ajusting the screw stop at the RHS of that picture

I'd think it'd have to be one specifically for 2cv - because of the lower resistance from the single bulbs. Most generic 6v relays will be expecting two bulbs, and only a single might cause it not to flash, same as if one bulb's blown.

No take the 12v clacker out of the equasion by putting in a clacker less indicator stalk-a modern one with no clacker

then if the relay still doesnt work ajust the screw that sets the wire tension,

still no joy - then get a new relay
