What's likely to have caused the untimely demise of the top (fixed) contact of my cars points? I'll Wang a photo up later but the entire contact appears to have burnt away since they were fitted new back in July. Never had a set do that before, I'm assuming something mustve caused it. |

usually the condenser Aftermarket coil? too much current (not high enough resistance should be 3.5-4Ohms) too much current voltage reg OK? and they were Dicellier/valeo ones not inermotor made of chocolate ones? |

Thanks Sean. Changed condenser anyway, it's got a slightly duff coil and for the first few miles it was overcharging. All bases covered there then... |

my pennys worth ive always been told by people when you change the points to change the condenser at the same time, if thats any help |

must have had a bit of a top end misfire? or were you putting that down to coil? PM sent! |
