Post subject:  knocking noise from drives side wheel

got a wee knocking noise on drivers side wheel

have greased kingpin and drive shaft

hav look at the wheel rim and the hub is not rubing

the noise is fairly loud

i hav never chaged the kingpins or any orther bits as it all ways seams to pass its mot

please help

have you recently changed the wheel or had the wheel off?
if you changed the wheel cold be the king pin hitting the inside of the wheel..
also if you jack the car up and spin it ...the wheel not the car... does it still knock.. if yes, get the wheel off and spin the hub.. if still yes see if the nut holding the bearing in is ok.. it might be the bearing or the nut holding it..
if no noise have a butchers at the drive shaft and woogle it...

I'd advise jacking it up and spinning the wheel, check wheelnuts to Oboe!

The welds on the 2CV rims often rust and expand. If you have recently changed a wheel and this is happening then check for signs of contact on the inside of the rim where the bottom of the kingpin would be hitting it.

btw is it all the time? or when going round a corner? had that with the D*lly, something todo with worn driveshafts?
