 grrr vent flap
right so crimped the vent flap rubber seal and hinge on, to find id done it the wrong way, so after an hour of swearing and arguing with an object i had got no where.. so i succesfully lined it up the correct way, and i start to crimp, its a nightmare, keeping the rubber in the right place and crimping it, half the time the rubber pops out and you have to re crimp, whats the best method for crimping,? hammering it? ive been using a hammer, (dented the inside of the flap too oh well never mind, and also using a screw driver to gently convince the rubber into place when it pops out a bit... help!

 Re: grrr vent flap
I used a pair of pliers. Having already painted the vent flap,I used a bit of rubber cut off'n an old 'bike inner-tube to stop the pliers marking my new paint. I also found that gluing the rubber in place and crimping just as it was drying helped. I used orn'ry "contact adhesive" ["Evo-Stick"] ....be careful with it though .....its cellulose thinable and will mark your new paint if you aint careful.

 Re: grrr vent flap
Yer tryed mole grips and wood( to protect front!) was useless.. I have a glue gun i havent painted yet, mr local paintman said he can paint with rubber on so thought id do it t'other way round. I can get most of it to stay on, just slight pull and a bit will come out. I got boored of swearing so thought there must be a solution to this ever increasingly anmoying problem? Oh well of to college now for some english indulgence, too tired, oh well!!

I think they're perfect like that .
