Front tyre is wearing uneven on the acad. How do you adjust the tracking on an A series and how difficult is it to do?

if you look inside the wheel you see a sleeve on the track rod with 2 bolted clamps on it

undo the 2 bolts and the slotted sleeve, which is internally threaded, should be free to turn. Watch what happens at the threads and either turn it so more threads come out which lengthens it or the threads reduce, shortening it.

if the outer side of the tyre has worn then shorten. If its inside then lenghten. you wont need any more than a turn or the steering will be all funny.

obviously rust siezed and rounded bolts siezed sleeve etc all have to be overcome.

clamps back on when done with the bolts at the top, make sure the rod end housing is centered on the arm by turning it fully one way then the other and settle at the mid point. when done the bolted gap on the clamp should not line up with the slot in the sleeve.

doing it properly means a string line that just touches the centre hump in the centre of the wheels, the leading edge of the front wheel rims should be max 2mm closer to the string than the opposite bit on the rear of the front rim (wich means that the differance between the two will be 4mm in total) . all this when the wheels are in the straight ahead position

if its only one side that has shown tyre wear then the problem is kingpin, wheel bearing or kerbing dammage to the arm.

messing about with the ride height stuffs up the tracking

The Burton adjusters that ecas sell are worth the money.
