so i was talking to matt yesterday, and he said some 2cv's cant cope with the load of the halogen headlamp bulbs, as the wire isnt thick enough. well i felt the back of my lheadlight switch, felt a bit warm, bearing in mind i only have one hal light in atm as one arrived broken, but anyway so im running with od headlamps and i know i shouldnt but thats the way life is sometimes..

and matt was saying some late cars are ok and some arent

mine is an e reg 1988

thanks :)

Hot headlamp switch is caused by the dim-dip system....Remove it (He says, even though it's still in situ on his car  )

PS:- there are threads devoted to the removal/disabling of dim-dip, here somewhere.

Do you really want to look like every Audi/Chav tosser on the road  ? You've already got a car that stands out from the crowd - appreciate it for what it is! 8-)

I found the full diagram invaluable when I rewired the Bedouin from scratch compared to the Haynes manual.
