Dampers aren't exactly a specialist job though! You* don't even need to jack the bastard up!!

*I do though. I can't get my hands under the car otherwise.

Just to be clear... LIPs should be fitted with the 'fatter' end toward the spring can as per ecas instructions yes?

sam,
Lipmesa/Allinquant type should always have the sleeve end towards the chassis.

In addition, the fitting mark on the body of the damper must face upwards.
That fitting mark used to be an indent on the body, but more recently, it's been just a yellow paint mark... ;)

ken.

Front page updated with Record.

Talking about Record for Acadiane rear. Any alternative product around. Found the inside bushes too skinny collapsing when nuts are fasten too hard. Some customers are not able to remove the shockies due to this happening?

looks like the inner spacer/washers have been fitted the wrong way round

or is it a case of "well they fit so we will punt them off to un suspecting 2cv owners( well they are all lentil munching hippies after all)"

Had an alloy bodied Avo shock break this year and the metal is scarily thin at a critical point, definatley not designed for peak load to be in tension.

It was a good try but no good for Acadiane.
The dimensions are 27 mm wide OK for 2cv but ACA is 38.50 mm
Thanks anyway

Have fitted them on the rears of aks400's, because they are in two parts and you retain the sleeve they squeeze together very nicely.
