Ok, I cant get the indicators working on the van and the first thing i thought i would check is what these wires do!? I cant really find anything that they fit to or see them really in the haynes or other diagrams... anyone? (Joolz?)

Hmmmm, that's not a lot to go on. What loom is Jeremy using? Do I remember you saying it's a regular late 2CV? in which case it should be the same as your D*lly.
Is this the bunch of wires that run to the back of the car? On a standard car this would be a lot easier, but Jeremy's unique so who knows.
My '88 'spesh looks like this:

There are eight wires and the coloured collars all match up. Have you got a red collar joining to a brown collar, or is that just the camera? Bare in mind that if the wires are connected
wrongly here and at the back of the car, then it could still work, two wrongs might make a right in this case, although correcting it now will make fault finding easier in the future.

The wires on my car do the following, colours relate to collars;-
BLUE - RIGHT INDICATOR
WHITE - LEFT INDICATOR
BLACK - PERMANENT LIVE FOR INTERIOR LIGHT
RED - BRAKE LIGHTS
PURPLE/MAUVE - LEFT TAIL
GREEN - RIGHT TAIL
BROWN - FOG
YELLOW - FUEL GAUGE SENDER

So unless your wires are very mixed up somewhere else, I don't think these lose wires are the answer to your indicator problem. Do any of the indicators work? have you tried a spare flasher unit?
Give me some more clues and I'll see what I can think of. ;)

brilliant!

Ok, couldnt resist a quick tinker outside, switched stuff on and disconnected wires etc

BLACK - PERMANENT LIVE FOR INTERIOR LIGHT - interior light working
RED - BRAKE LIGHTS - brake lights working
PURPLE/MAUVE - LEFT TAIL - wire does not exist
GREEN - RIGHT TAIL - both tail lights from this wire
BROWN - FOG - not connected but works with switch
YELLOW - FUEL GAUGE SENDER - traced a wire to rear of van, will connect to tank tomorrow

BLUE - RIGHT INDICATOR - not working
WHITE - LEFT INDICATOR - not working as above, will check with volt meter tomorrow and check relay and switch (both new actually)

I have 4 wires un connected on the rhs of the van. One goes to fuel sender type area, others are mystery still. I will check them incase they are indicator connected!

cheers

Just checked the haynes, it's only the last couple of years of production that had separate wires(and fuses) for left and right side/tail lights, so thats probably right.
