Some ideas for the fuel line

In-Line Filter.
Allows view of fuel and dirt

Both handy but it is advisable to take some pre-cut fuel line with you to bypass them if needed.

Based on the advice of others, I fitted my fuel filter BEFORE the fuel pump to prevent any crud getting into the gasket.

Could fit filter next to valve on the chassis for a road car.
However filter body is glass when removing/replacing the wing it could get damaged.

Part Two
Fit bowl type filter near the tank, if a can locate a small version.

Yep, just like the plastic versions - which are also see-through - but more fragile and a damn sight more expensive. But blingier.

If the one in your pump already is buggered, then changing the pump might be a better bet. It could well have got damaged by unfiltered grot from the tank, though, so unless you put a filter before the pump, the next pump (or one-way valve...) may well go the same way.

Isn't there a filter on the outlet of the tank on the 4x4s, inside the chassis?

Why a non return? A mechanical pump can't function without its own internal non return valve.

over time it seems to get past it or evaporate but the time being two weeks im not sure?? but the fuel pump is dry
