hi all. the slough has decided that it dosent want to charge its battery. it would appear that has never charged. its only since taking it up and down the road that we have realised it. we have fittted new brushes to the dynamo. its had a complete new wiring loom new battery and a recon 6v regulater. dad assures me hes wired it all up correctly. 6v electrics arent the best on a good day but when you not charging you can imagine the impact this has. any ideas suggestions welcome

Tarquin,
when fitting a new or reconditioned dynamo, it's often necessary to polarise the dynamo.
If you haven't already done that and if the Slough uses a control box similar to the early Lucas type, this could be useful...

Otherwise, there are other sites which give advice about polarising.

Failing that, it's probably worth dropping a p.m. to Mike Phelan on 'the other forum'. ;)
