Post rear bump stop repair
just started the 2nd side rear bump stop repair

had to cut the whole area out as it had been patched and fibreglassed over

the other side i did as original with 2 layers of metal and the bump stop welded onto it

i was thinking on this side should i double skin it? or leave it single as its an obvious rust trap
the repair section ive put in is slightly thicker than original already and its ready for the next bit to go over the top of it,or just the bump stop straight on and leave it single

thanks
matt

I wouldn't double skin it unless you're looking for complete originality, just make the repair piece out of thicker steel than original. Just as strong but no rust trap, will take longer to rust through, and easier to weld. Win, win, win.
