You'll need a Hi-viz vest for you & your passengers. Just wear them, they're great fashion accessories!

I like the picture at the bottom of that document!

I thought you had to have a vest per passenger as well? And that they had to be in the passenger compartment rather than in the boot?

I'm with Luke on this. One hi-viz per occupant of the vehicle. Tale up no room under your seat. Pretty much a fit and forget item - unless you need to wear it for a hi-viz party!

Just one required and must be in the cab so you can put it on as you get out. Don't forget your log book, insurance cert, MOT and driving license.

Just one vest required, it's Spain that needs one for each occupant, but nothing wrong with having loads. They must be reachable from inside the car, which is why you see loads of cars here in France with them over the backs of the front seats.

First aid kit? No-one's ever asked to see it, it's more that you're required to give aid in the event of an accident. Mine has a triangular bandage circa 1943, a cigarette, and asprin, and a cough sweet. So I can treat a broken arm, headache, give the guy a ciggie for the shock, and a cough sweet when he chokes on the smoke.

I think a bottle of gin and a smoke are far more helpfil in a car crash scenario than plaster and eyewash.
