The time has come to attempt a connection for the accelerator pedal. When I got the car, there was no pedal, so I have nothing to work from in determining how to reconnect it. I have the following bits:  Now - in this photo, we can see slightly better that I've got to attach the rubber bung to the pedal somehow. There's a tang inset on the pedal - do I push the rubber onto this?  Presumably it's the same for the hinge at the base? Thanks! Ben |

It's been a while since i've had a car with this set-up; the larger plastic 'bearing' just presses into the bottom of the pedal, IIRC. [useless trivia] the bearing used to cost £2.16 +vat back in 1998 & were available off the shelf from my friendly local Citroen dealer! [/useless trivia] I got quite good at re-attaching the pedal to the floor bearing after it had 'slipped' off. Usually at the most inopportune moments! |

On my car the top rubber is clamped tightly by the sides and the tags, the bottom, as Neil says, is just pressed in. |

Thanks Neil and Russ. Ah - I guess I need to bend the tags out and then bend them back to grab the rubbers. I remember my dads aks400 used to pop the pedal off all the time too. What's more, I also remember going with him to a scrappy and getting a replacement pedal off a drum brake 2cv. Don't recall having to tour any scrapyards to find a 2cv in it. That was probably 1990 or so? |
